The body hates change! It would much rather do the same thing every minute of every day. Guess what…when you do the same exercise routine day in and day out you stop seeing results or “plateau.” In the Boomer Blast fitness class I utilize the principle of muscle confusion – I do a little bit of dance, cardio, resistance training, flexibility and movement training. You will NEVER do the same workout twice! Why is this good? Because…your body will never adapt and you will never plateau. Let’s get fit, get healthy, challenge our minds, challenge our bodies, and most importantly MAKE FITNESS FUN!
I presently have a 6 week session happening now! If you are interested in participating in this class, it is held at Murphy Park @6:00am on Saturdays.

My Journey began in Jan 2012. I was turning 45 in June and wanted to lose 65 pounds by that time and take it from there. I needed a good starting point. But something happened once I got started, I could not stop! I have been over weight my whole life so changing everything in my life was a real challenge, but a challenge I was finally ready to take on! Change is never easy but having the will power and determination to do IT is everything! I started out walking every night, it was not easy but I did it! And within months I saw a change and it did get easier to make it around the corner. My diet was all clean eating at this point, no red meat, lots of veggies, turkey, chicken, fruits, no sugar, no salt and TONS OF WATER! After my walking became easier I used my Thread Mill I had been using as a closet for old clothes! I dusted if off and it became my new best friend! I was dropping any where from 8-14 pounds a month! Zumba entered my life in the hottest month JULY! At this point I was down 95 pounds!!! When I first walked in I was greeted by the warmest smiling person! She introduced herself right away as Aimee our instructor! I came with my oldest friend Diana who works for the city of Glendale she talked me into trying a class with her! Being down 95 pounds I felt like I could try it and if it was too much I would not come back, it was only 5.00! UPDATE: Doreen is now down to 170 pounds. Read more…
My journey began a short 6 months ago. When I thought about my New Year’s Resolution, I made a promise to myself that I was going to make 2012 about me. I was overweight, exhausted both mentally and physically. Being a wife and mom of two little boys, I knew I needed to make a change in my life, I just didn’t know what that was going to be yet. I started casually walking with some co-workers. Then I ended up in the gym on a treadmill. That just wasn’t for me. I wanted my workout to be something that I enjoyed. Then, I found Zumba. I knew I was hooked from the first class that I tried. I do remember thinking that I wasn’t going to make it through a whole class and there was NO way I was ever going to learn all of those dance moves. But I was determined to stick with my promise. I got better and better, class by class. I found myself swaying to the beat of our songs, even when I’m not at Zumba. Moving to the Latin beats, in such a fun position environment, makes exercise fun. I’ve lost 40 pounds so far. But what I’m most proud of is confidence and positivity Zumba has brought back into my life. That’s really a great feeling! Thank you 3G Fitness for inspiring me!!!
